During the 2020 pandemic I started exploring with the cardboard that was coming into our home from various deliveries. An ongoing series of cardboard assemblages was born from that creative play. Long inspired by quilt making, my assembly process is intuitive and improvisational and I allow the nature of the materials that I work with to help shape the direction of the finished artwork. When I was creating this piece, I was considering the way in which we are slowly shaped by individuals in our life. The title, Aggregate, reflects how we are made up of these influences that we collect over the years.
