My work revolves around the domestic imagery of Midwestern rust belt cities, particularly Dayton, Ohio. Inspired by Catholic shrines and altars, this piece honors the simplicity of everyday things that are often overlooked, in this case, Dayton's downtown Kroger, which I grew up across from. In this piece, I incorporate a handbuilt ceramic frame, linoleum printmaking, candles, chains, glass beads, and a small bell.
