I grew up splitting my time between Ohio and rural Indiana to spend time with my dad's family. This piece is included in a series of works documenting objects found in my grandparents' house, a place of calm and comfort throughout my life. These objects have become icons in my mind, tied to the daily habits of my grandparents and memories of my time with them. This piece depicts the broom my grandpa would use to routinely sweep the front porch.
