My ceramic work explores memory, history, and storytelling through the beauty of heirloom objects. I have always been drawn to the playful, colorful patterns found in quilts—the unexpected combinations of color, repetition, shape, and texture. My own heirloom quilts and handmade objects have become an important source of inspiration, connecting me to the people, stories, and traditions that came before me. For this work, I reinterpret these quilt patterns through clay, translating the visual language of textiles into ceramic forms. I am interested in preserving and honoring these familiar patterns while giving them a new life through a different material. By turning quilt-inspired designs into ceramic heirloom objects, I hope to capture both the joy of their vibrant patterns and the lasting emotional connection we have with the handmade objects we choose to keep and pass down.
