Statement:
At the loom, I weave translucent, lightweight panels that are arranged into layered tapestries and suspended installations. Each piece is informed by, and inextricable from, the cultivated habit of giving attention to the distinct physical and spiritual character of delineated moments. Tending to these moments and weaving them into form: that is my practice.
These two components, tending and weaving, mirror each other in their unhurried pace. I find depth in the ordinary when I am still, and I assemble each woven piece purposefully, line by line. Working in this rhythm, I bring into consonance fragments of my daily life with the intentional over-under placement of thousands of thin threads. In so doing, I render the experience of unhurried attention and the full character of many individual moments into shape, color, and substance.
